How we help

How it works in 3 simple steps

Students use their own household's real utility data to run a conservation investigation, then share their findings with their family, school and local utility.

Students can audit the school instead!

For students that are experiencing housing insecurity, or those that live in apartment buildings that don't have individual meters, MeterHero provides the option to audit the school meters (which students love).

In addition, students in apartment buildings are often able to collect real data for their unit through available electricity and natural gas meters. Some teachers even share images of their meters for students to read.

There are none.

MeterHero does NOT collect PII (personally identifying information) nor does it store such information.

YES, for teachers and students, MeterHero is free!

Your local water and energy utilities pay for MeterHero to be free of charge for teachers. They do this because water and energy conservation is of vital importance, and the opportunity for you to raise awareness amongst your students is worthy of their investment.
